Hello everybody, please sit down and prepare for some exiting news. There has been a new addition to the CrackBrained team, so please welcome our newest member...... me! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Max Krakers and I'll be joining the CrackBrained team to help out with the business side of things. I'll be advising on and taking control of some of the less creative parts of our circle, as we transition from a group of likeminded people to an actual organisation. Apart from helping out with the boring stuff, I'm currently writing two stories for the next theme book. Sadly, I possess the artistic skills of a monkey (editorial note: that's and insult to monkeys), so one of our mangakas will be drawing it for me. This is my first time doing anything like this and I'm very excited to try out my business skills in real life. If you want to know more about me or what I'll be doing here, check out my members page (once it's been uploaded). I hope you guys are as excited about this as I am and maybe I'll see you at one of our upcoming events. Kind regards, Max KrakersAugust 31, 2015
Kamper Stripspektakel 2015.
Two weeks ago, we went to Kamper Stripspektakel. This event was outside in the streets of Kampen, and is basically a market with comic books instead of food and such. There was a surprisingly large amount of children present, most of which were collecting signatures from all the artist present, and a lot of them collected drawings in booklets. ARHDian had the honour of drawing for several of them. Bouts of harsh sunlight made it hard to draw, but Epril came to the rescue by acting as a living parasol when she wasn’t busy talking to the crowd. The organisation took good care of us by providing food and drinks, and we had a lot of fun talking to everyone at our stand. Thanks to everyone who came by to say hello!August 31, 2015
Animecon 2015 report + WE WON A DMA AGAIN :D
Animecon was awesome! The most important thing is of course the fact that we won the 2015 'Original Story' Dutch Manga Award with Marcitach's story "The Mirror Master"! Cue synchronous victory dances in the Netherlands and Austria (Marcitach was abroad for work). We shared our tiny stand with Pages Comics, who had just published a new booklet named "Pawns". The table was quite crowded with the four of us, but we had a lot of fun! Friday was a very quiet day for us (we were placed behind someone else's banner -_-), but Saturday we took revenge and placed our table forward a bit so people could finally see us. Saturday was also the day of the DMA ceremony, so afterwards a lot of people came to see and buy our booklets. We had two wonderful assistant board swingers that grabbed the attention of the visitors by flashily showing off the board we got from the Award. We got the opportunity to talk to many people and make many commissions, from fanart to portraits to OC drawings. On Sunday ARHDian was so busy with commissions she was drawing until literally the last second the dealer room was open.August 31, 2015

Report of the Stripmanifestatie.
Last weekend we attended the Stripmanifestatie in Drachten. To our surprise, there were a lot of children on the second day of the event. They spent a lot of time chasing the Furries that had shown up for the event. We also did a lot of commission work; I (ARHDian) ended up drawing 6 Furries, 1 OC, a nice piece of old fashioned anime fanart, a manga portret, and a drawing based on a piece of music someone brought along. The highlight for this event for us was of course that we launched the reprint of Theme Book 1 here.June 2, 2015
Dutch Comic Con.
We have a bad luck streak when it comes to placing, but this time, the entire artist alley suffered. The con was loads of fun though and we made the most of it by creating an artist alliance for sharing stands and going to events together!April 1, 2015
Abunai! was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we were stuffed away in the right back corner, so we had a lot less visitors than we would've liked. Still, we had a good time and made some cool commissions!September 1, 2014
On a more serious note, something seems to have gone wrong when exporting page 96. Three lines of text that might be of importance to the storyline were not printed on the page. Here's the corrected version!
Tsunacon 2014 report
Two years have past since we've last been here, presenting our very first book! Today, our second book saw the light of day! We enjoyed your enthusiasm for our work and we're glad you've commissioned us so often. Please stay tuned for more appearances through the course of the year!
We also met some cool people from a new Doujinshi circle called Nebula. Check 'em out over at Tumblr.

Abunai Workshop Report
We gave a workshop on perspective drawing at Abunai 2013. Most of the participants had been happy to attend, but since the workshop was for intermediate skill levels and up, the instructions were just a tad too technical for some attendants. We did manage to get interviewed, and get the workshop videotaped for international broadcasting (which is how I (Marchitach) found out that I have a terrible posture ;_;).
We hope to be of service again in the future!August 24, 2013
Email difficulties, server changes
It seems that part of our server is blocked from sending emails from and to outlook.com domains. You will still be able to contact us through the contact form, but while we try to fix this, any correspondence will be answered by an alternative email address. To solve this problem, we will be moving to a different server. This may cause some temporary bugs and/or downtime. We apologize for any inconvenience.August 17, 2013
DMA: We have a winner!
Last Friday we arrived at Animecon, with hope in our hearts and jitters in our guts. Today was the day we would find out if one of us (Merwilla, Marcitach) had impressed the juries enough to we awarded the title of winner in the category of 'Original Work'! After loud aplauses for the winners of the 'Fan Comic' and 'Short Comic' awards, our time had come. After a brief introduction (and an impressive plug by the juries), the winner was announced… It is my pleasure and honour to present to you, the winner of the Dutch Manga Award 2013, category 'Original Work', Merwilla!
With her eerily spot-on children's drawings in 'Lotte', she had taken the juries hearts and minds for a spin (which made them feel uneasy for quite a while after).June 1, 2013
On the 23th of April, we got the pleasant news that our booklet made it through the first selection round of the Dutch Manga Awards 2013!
But that is not all. Today I received a wonderful email, stating that not one, but TWO of the stories in our book ('POISON', 'Lotte') have been nominated for an award in the category 'Original Work'! According to the judges, 'Mirror Image' was not far behind. This is wonderful news, and we are very excited to be attending the award ceremony.
Today was the big day! We sold our booklets for the very first time. It was truly an amazing experience. We've received lots of positive feedback and sales went great. To top it all off, we even sold some custom artwork. Needless to say, we all went home feeling happy and appreciated (and well fed, thank you burger restaurant xD). Our next appearance is as of yet unknown, but our booklet will be available during Animecon 2012, at Tomodachi's stand.February 12, 2012
